Sponsor a Tree in Ireland
The Forest of Dunbrody provides the perfect opportunity for individuals to support the work of the JFK Trust.
For a small donation of €13 you can sponsor a tree, contributing to the work of the Trust and helping to maintain a valuable local amenity.
In thanks for your help, we will send you a handsome “Certificate of Sponsorship”. This can be made out in your name, or that of a loved one. Certificates can also be issued in commemoration of the dearly departed.
A large number of Irish trees were felled to provide the timber used in building the Dunbrody Famine Ship. This wood was provided by Coillte, the Irish Forestry Board. In order to replace the trees that were used, the JFK Trust in partnership with Coillte conceived of the Forest of Dunbrody.
Situated in Lacken, just outside of New Ross, the forest consists of a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees of the types used for the Dunbrody. Through our sponsorship programme the public have contributed to the planting of some 25,000 trees.
The Forest has become a priceless natural amenity and is popular with hikers, dog-walkers, and cyclists.
